DocTable

Automate data entry from invoices, receipts and bank statements

Updated October 2026

To stop typing invoices, receipts and bank statements into spreadsheets by hand, upload them to DocTable: it reads each page — scans and phone photos included — and returns Excel, CSV or JSON with line items, totals and transactions already in rows and columns, and it flags the rows whose arithmetic does not add up so a person checks only those. There are no templates to set up and no subscription, and the same extraction runs from the web app, a REST API or an MCP server. Your first 3 pages are free — scan and download, no card needed. After that, $3 buys 20 pages (one-time, no subscription). Try your first page without an account — sign in only to download it.

How it works

  1. Upload invoices, receipts or statements — up to 100 files.
  2. The AI turns each page into rows and columns.
  3. Rows that do not add up are flagged for review.
  4. Download Excel, CSV or JSON, or call the API.

What still needs a person

A person should review the flagged rows, and any value on a blurry photo. DocTable has no approval workflows or ERP connectors; if you need those, a document-AI platform with workflows is the better choice. The arithmetic check covers consistency of the numbers, not whether they match the original.

From one upload to an automation

The web app is the manual route. The same extraction is available over a REST API (POST /v1/scan, with background jobs and a callback_url webhook for long PDFs) and over a remote MCP server for assistants — see the API docs and the OCR MCP server. Each page uses 1 credit on every route.

Accounts payable for a small business

DocTable is the capture step only: it turns supplier invoices into rows you can paste into your own sheet, book or system. It does not approve, route or pay invoices. To process a stack at once see multiple PDFs to Excel.

Bookkeeping: bank statements to QuickBooks Online CSV

For bank statements DocTable can produce a QuickBooks Online bank-upload CSV; see bank statement to QuickBooks for what the file contains and when it is refused.

Frequently asked questions

How do I automate data entry from invoices?

Upload the invoices to DocTable and download Excel, CSV or JSON with line items and totals already in columns. Check the rows it flags, then paste or import the data.

Can I automate invoice processing without AP software?

Yes, for the capture step: DocTable turns invoice PDFs and photos into rows without any setup. Approval, matching and payment stay with you or your own software.

Is DocTable accounts payable automation software?

No. It is a capture step only — it reads documents into data — and has no approval workflows or ERP connectors.

How do I stop manual data entry from PDFs?

Convert the PDFs to Excel, CSV or JSON instead of retyping them. DocTable reads scanned PDFs and photos too, and flags rows whose arithmetic does not add up.

Can bookkeeping data entry be automated?

Partly. Bank statements can become a QuickBooks Online bank-upload CSV and invoices or receipts become spreadsheet rows, but a person still reviews flagged rows.

Does it connect to my accounting system?

No direct connection. It produces a QuickBooks Online CSV, a Xero CSV (not yet tested against Xero's importer) for bank statements, and Excel, CSV or JSON for everything else; the API lets you build your own link.
