How it works

  1. Upload a PDF, JPG or photo invoice.
  2. DocTable's smart OCR reads vendor, date, line items, tax and total.
  3. 10 free scans after signing in — see the extracted data first.
  4. Download as Excel, CSV or Word — no extra charge.

What gets extracted from an invoice

An invoice is three parts, and they come back separately. The header fields — invoice number, issue date, due date, PO number, vendor name and tax ID — arrive as label/value pairs. The line-item table becomes real rows: description, quantity, unit price and line total in their own columns. The totals block — subtotal, tax or VAT, shipping, grand total — is read as its own group rather than being mistaken for another line item, which is the usual failure of a general-purpose converter.

Invoices that run over several pages

When line items continue onto a second or third page, the continuation rows are appended to the same table instead of starting a new one, and a header row that repeats at the top of each page is recognised as a repeat rather than imported as data. Upload a folder of invoices at once and pages belonging to the same invoice are grouped into one output file — you get one spreadsheet per invoice, not one per page.

Layouts, languages and currencies

There is no template to configure and no per-vendor setup: each invoice is read visually, so a layout you have never processed before works the same as a familiar one. Mixed-script invoices — Arabic or Persian alongside English, common in Gulf trade documents — are read with the same model as Latin-only ones. Currency symbols and thousands separators are preserved as written; DocTable does not convert currencies or recalculate totals, so verify the numbers before posting them.

Why DocTable

For teams: bulk invoice processing

Converting one invoice at a time doesn't scale for an AP team or a bookkeeping practice handling dozens a month. The Business pack is a bigger one-time top-up built for that: $49 for 2,000 pages — a lower per-page rate than the packs above — with an official PayPal receipt for expensing and a Data Processing Agreement available on request. Uploads are still grouped automatically, so a batch of invoices comes back as one clean file, not one file per page.

One-time credit, not a subscription — top up again whenever you need to. No contract, no setup fee.

Frequently asked questions

Can I convert an invoice to Excel for free?

Sign-in is required before the first scan. Sign-in gives 10 free scans, then scans use paid credits. Downloading a result is free.

What does it extract from an invoice?

Vendor, date, invoice number, line items, tax (VAT) and total, as editable rows.

Does it support e-invoices and PDF files?

Yes — PDF, JPG, PNG and photos of invoices.

Can I export to CSV as well as Excel?

Yes — download the table as Excel, Word or CSV.

How accurate is the extraction?

It depends mostly on the source, not the tool. Clean digital invoices read most reliably, while faint print, skew, glare and handwriting are what cause errors. No measured accuracy figure has been published for DocTable, so always review amounts, tax lines and totals before using them for accounting or tax purposes.
